Integrated circuits (ICs) are the cornerstone of 5G network communication, without which the high speed and low latency of 5G cannot be achieved.
In 5G base stations, terminal devices (such as mobile phones), and core networks, the following key chips are mainly relied upon:
·RF front-end chip: This is the core barrier of 5G. 5G needs to support more complex frequency bands, with power amplifiers responsible for signal transmission, low-noise amplifiers responsible for reception, and filters and switches responsible for processing complex signal paths.
·Baseband chip: responsible for encoding and decoding signals, it is the "communication brain" of mobile phones. It integrates a modem to handle the complex protocol stack and multi carrier aggregation of 5G.
·Digital processing and storage: FPGA is often used for algorithm acceleration in 5G base stations; CPU/ASIC is responsible for routing massive data in the core network; High speed storage chips are used to meet the data flood throughput requirements brought by 5G.
